Other documents work too: your residence permit (ikamet) card, the rental contract, a utility bill in your name or an e-Devlet residence document on your phone. I lost my keys at the Wednesday market and have no spare. What now?

The lock on my flat door has not been changed in years and now turns hard. Does the whole lock need replacing?

Not always. If only the cylinder is at fault, a cylinder replacement is enough; if the bolt sticks or the lock body is worn, you need a lock change. Meanwhile, don’t force the key: if it snaps inside the lock, the job gets bigger. We tell you which one it is once we have seen the lock, and the price before any work starts.
